100 employees and counting: Illumine Industries celebrates its latest landmark
June 25, 2021 – San Francisco – Illumine Industries a.k.a. ILLUMINE-i, a renewable design and engineering firm, has recently announced that it has crossed the hundred employee mark.
“We are humbled to have hit another milestone,” said Nithish Sairam, CEO of ILLUMINE-i, who co-founded the company in 2015. “In just under six years, we have grown from an idea and a team of 5 to an established enterprise with a loyal clientele in the sustainable living space.” Adding to it, he mentioned, “Drawing inspiration from a coastal Indian city that I hail from and having seen the downsides that come with the disparity in Power and Infrastructure among a society, I have always dreamed of contributing, in the smallest way possible, to help cities transition to a balanced and low carbon future.”
The year 2020, which was economically marred by the COVID-19 pandemic, had seen both fortunate and unfortunate turn of events for companies; for us at ILLUMINE-i, it has been more of the former. Earlier this year, the company had announced that it had doubled its engineering team in a bid to keep up with its rapid growth. “Fortunately, the pandemic didn’t throw a spanner into our works. In fact, our business peaked during this time, courtesy of the economic policy, an amazing team, and timely automation enhancement. With the ship sailing in the right direction, we found ourselves in a position to add more manpower to meet the business demands,” added Nithish
As for the recruitment, ILLUMINE-i has had a clear-cut philosophy right from the very beginning. “Since our inception, we have been after raw talents who are also willing to learn and evolve with the company as opposed to finished articles,” said Ajay, one of the foremost employees and now the design manager for the renewables division. “I knew exactly what I was signing up for when I joined the company way back in 2016. The management, although very young at the time, laid out a super-impressive road map of their plans, which left no room for me for any second thoughts. I totally bought into the narrative, and in hindsight, it proved to be one of the best decisions in my life.”
The company has come a long way in the last six years. Integral to this success has been the camaraderie the employees share. “We are a tight-knit group of individuals. It is this togetherness that has kept us going even in the face of adversities,” said Agnes, Assistant Manager-Talent Acquisition. “This will only continue as long as we persist with our tradition of hiring individuals who are as fitting to our culture as they are skilled.”
From Solar Design and Building Information Modelling to EV, ILLUMINE-i has set its sights on becoming a major player in the sustainability sector across continents. “We are constantly exploring a lot of innovative strategies to capitalize on the market,” said Ajith Papineni, Manager – Market Acquisitions. “Considering the market potential and the resources that we have at our disposal, sky is the limit for us in terms of market expansion.”
